Class Time is Priceless

If you’re in college or private school, then you’re probable paying good money for an expert instructor to teach you about a subject – so technically, class is not priceless--just pricey. In any case, class is like a presentation for you, revealing everything you need to know for the test. So make sure you prepare for class, pay attention during class, and review after class. The most important thing you can do to improve your success in school immediately is to start attending class prepared. Here's what that means:
  • Pre-class. To better understand the information presented in class, read the material required for lecture beforehand. You will be able to follow along better, ask better questions, and clarify the confusing material. Secondly, prepare for class by getting a good night’s sleep, eating a healthy meal and even exercising if you feel restless when sitting for a long time.
  • Class. Go. Secondly, be an active learner. Take notes, ask questions, participate in discussion, make connections, be alert and pay attention. All this means that you have to be excited and passionate about the subject.
  • Post-class. Review your notes and add to them immediately after class, if possible. Ideally, you will be able to schedule post-class study time in your calendar. If not, then look over your class notes again as soon as you have a few extra minutes. Your brain loves to be reminded of freshly learned material, and your memory will improve from this quick review.
